Extending grace
Empowering growth

Hi, I’m Kelsie Helm.

I am the founder of Grace in Growth, PLLC and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).  I have been practicing as a therapist for seven years after completing my graduate degree at Adler University in Counseling and Art Therapy.  I have primarily worked with women between the ages 17-85 utilizing both a clinical and art-based approach to treatment.  I have experience working in community-based mental health, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs, and private practice settings.

In my approach to the therapeutic space, I aim to balance conversation, education, and reflection as I support you in your exploration of yourself and your story.  In therapy, I believe that each individual should experience compassion, curiosity, and challenge towards greater personal understanding and growth.  I believe in the value of caring for the whole person — mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually — and the role that a safe therapeutic space can have in that process.

I have partnered with individuals navigating symptoms of depression and anxiety, self-concept and self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), family-related concerns and grief processing. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and primarily draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) lenses.  Art-based therapy is also a tool that I use if you are someone who already processes creatively or is interested in trying a new approach to the therapeutic process through artmaking. Engaging in the art therapy process does not require any previous artistic experience. Personally, my Christian faith is an important part of who I am and how I understand myself, others, and the world.  These beliefs do inform the way I think about hope, healing, and the human person.  When desired by the client, I enjoy thoughtfully integrating faith into our work together.

Outside of my practice as a therapist, I am a mom to two sweet little girls.  My husband is in full-time church ministry and we currently love doing high school ministry alongside each other.  I love to read, try a new craft, watch a home renovation show, eat good food, go on walks, and spend time with family and friends.

I can recognize the courage that it takes to enter into a new therapeutic relationship.  If my approach resonates with you, I would love to hear from you.
